Family Accommodation Victoria
– September School Holidays Day Two
The Mornington Peninsula is such a great family friendly area with plenty of activities especially for the kids. This narrow strip of land has all the sense of an island as it is surrounded by sea with both Port Phillip Bay and its calm waters and Westernport with its more rugged ocean beaches.
We regularly stay at our family accommodation here on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria so that we can ensure we test out the properties and ensure they are up to standard and checking out new attractions is a must so that we can advise you of not only the best family accommodation in Victoria but also the best activities in Victoria too.
Staying in our latest family accommodation – Moonah Ridge Retreat with its tennis court and games room the kids had a great time in the evening but choose the upstairs lounge with the 3D TV to relax! Leaving the adults to take a sneaky glass of wine down to the games room and lounge down there for the evening.
After a lovely sleep in the king size beds we had a leisurely breakfast and met up with Lynda from Peninsula Stand Up Paddle down at the foreshore in Sorrento for a lesson in how to Stand Up Paddle. What a great thing to do!
Lynda was great with both adults and children alike. It was relatively easy although there was a bit of a breeze blowing and it was a challenge to keep to where they were meant to be.
The lesson was only one hour, which teaches you everything you need to know to get going. You can then hire wetsuits and boards from Peninsula Stand Up Paddle and go it alone. Great activity for adults and kids alike.
The wish list from the kids was to go out on a horse ride at Gunnamatta Trail Rides, so as the venue was only around the corner from our family accommodation then we dropped them off and headed back for a short rest before dinner.
Dinner Choice: Two Bouys in Dromana – we have been hearing about this place for the last year or so but never managed to get down there. It is a multi award winning tapas and wine bar (but they also serve breakfast and coffee), with local food and a great wine list we know we are dealing with a great provider.
Although, we find that tapas can be expensive and the servings small, here it is a different story and we had more than enough for the hungry mouths. Great food!
Lunch and Dinner – 7 days from 11:30am (which is great to know they are always open) – Breakfasts – on weekends from 8am
Time to head home to our family accommodation Victoria and plan another day.
