Here is our essential guide to planning your girls golfing weekend! Are you looking for a great venue for a weekend away with your golfing girlfriends, but with lots of added attractions? Then look no further!
Why the Mornington Peninsula?
The Mornington Peninsula has been a popular golfing destination for many years, with over 15 golf clubs and 19 links, with absolutely stunning views. It also has an abundance of beautiful wineries where you can take in a lazy lunch, the Peninsula Hot Springs for unique spa treatments, fantastic shopping, great cafes and beautiful accommodation to relax and unwind in.
The Essential Guide Schedule
Arrive at your beautiful accommodation – How we can make your stay wonderful?
Bring together a group of friends and experience not only the world-class golf courses, but all that the Peninsula has to offer, whilst we take care of you! Our luxury holiday homes and cottages come fully equipped for your comfort and are the ideal base to spend time together and unwinding after the day’s activities.
You will be welcomed with a complimentary bottle of local wine and a charcuterie board platter to enjoy and unwind on your first evening. It’s time to catch up!
Wake and enjoy a gourmet breakfast hamper which will be supplied for the first morning’s breakfast including Almond Croissants, Rustic Sour Dough Baguette, a jar of their homemade local fruit jam/preserve, butter, freshly ground dark roasted coffee, rashers smoky bacon, thick Italian pork and fennel sausages, free-range eggs and vine-ripened tomatoes. If your mouth isn’t watering, mine certainly is typing this! If you can still move, it’s time to get on the course.
We can arrange for you to enjoy 18-holes at some of the world’s best golf courses, here on the Peninsula. Our golf packages include at the famous Moonah Links Golf Course, Eagle Ridge Golf Course or The Dunes, all a short distance from your holiday home. These packages also include golf cart hire for your group. For more information about the courses and our offers follow this link. After the first 18 holes, how about lunch?
You really will be spoiled for choice with where to go for lunch. Choose to dine at any of the stunning winery cellar doors, local restaurants, and cafes. One weekend will never be enough! We feel lunch at a winery is a must and T’Gallant is one of our favourites.
“T’Gallant winery is nestled in the rolling hills and undulating valleys of Main Ridge where many a great grape is birthed; a Saturday afternoon wine tasting, out on the outdoor drinking patio, live music, big umbrella heaters with a bunch of good friends and long pizza boards watching the sunset over vast grape plains is my idea of FUN.” This review about T’Gallant winery really does say it all. Can we come too?!!
Saturday Afternoon – Shopping
Any breakaway is not complete without shopping and a trip to Sorrento will certainly not disappoint. Stroll along the high street and discover quaint interior styling boutiques, antique stores, clothing boutiques, and art galleries which are in abundance. Throughout the Summer there are also some wonderful local craft and makers markets. Of course, Sorrento is not the only destination for great shopping. There is no shortage of boutiques and gift shops scattered throughout the Peninsula.
In-house beauty and massage treatments
Let us book in in-house massages or beauty treatments during your stay or perhaps you would prefer to jump the queue at the Peninsula Hot Springs? No problem!
Brekkie at a local cafe
Either start Sunday early with a second round or take in brekkie at many of the wonderful local cafes or vice versa! We would be happy to recommend our favourite cafes nearby. Here are a couple for now…
Everyone likes to be in on a secret and that’s exactly what Hunter Cafe & Store wants to be. The locals of St Andrews Beach and the back of Rye probably hope it stays that way because if word gets out there’ll be lines out the door in no time. Hunter is also the first totally vegan cruelty-free cafe in Rye.
Merricks General Wine Store is always a favourite place to stop on the Peninsula…perhaps on the way back home. Enjoy fine wine, food, art and produce at this much loved general store inspired by the rustic charm of farm life.
Where will you stay? With us of course! Ocean Blue Coastal Retreats have gorgeous holiday accommodation throughout the Peninsula and very close to all of the golf courses. Visit Ocean Blue Coastal Retreats for full details.
Included with all of our golf packages is a late checkout. As long as no other guest is due to arrive right after you we are happy to offer this to our guests. No need to dash, pack up and get back to life just yet, enjoy a leisurely Sunday on us x
