a little pet-friendly fortress to escape the world
we love this because…
Paddington our four-legged member of the family loves the pet-friendly cottage at BUCKLEY’S ESCAPE, he can roam around the large garden or sunbake on the deck.
We cosy up in the lounge and take a sofa each and read a book and soak up the sun streaming through the floor to ceiling windows. With its high front fence and gates, once you are inside it feels like a little fortress where you can escape the world. We cook up dinner on the Webber BBQ and sunbake in the Adirondack Chairs. At night we light the fire pit and sit and ponder life with a glass of local Pinot.
When we feel energetic we walk the 15 minutes to Diamond Bay or along the Coppins Track to Koonya Beach in one direction or Sorrento Ocean Beach in the other. The 35-minute walk along this track takes us to Sorrento and the cafes, shops and restaurants of this historic town. We love MrSticksenbones cafe for great food and coffee.
For a day trip, we take the Queenscliff-Sorrento Ferry to Queenscliff and spend the day on the Bellarine Peninsula. Most times we see dolphins or whales on the journey over which is always a delight.
*COVID – if you are unable to travel due to COVID restrictions and/or we are unable to host you then we will contact you to offer a change of dates, credit note or refund.
What fun! a new house to visit that lets four-legged friends like me sleep inside (such a pet-friendly cottage).
Yay! a garden with fences to keep me safe. Love the bushes and the space to roam around and lots of interesting smells.
And there’s a special basket just for me. No way! What’s in there? Ooh, ooh! a treat from PAWDINKUM. I LOVE THIS PLACE.

'Great location and very nicely presented properly. The yard was very secure so we could leave our dog out without worry while we went exploring.'

We loved the quiet location, the comfy lounge set-up and the fire pit for roasting marshmallows. The soap dispensers in the bathroom were a great idea! The aircon did a top job. Oh, and the welcome pack of vino and hand products was a lovely touch!
