Happiness by the Beach
we love this because….
Happiness is a holiday by the beach. Simply pulling into the driveway of HAPPY VALLEY puts a smile on our faces. We love a weatherboard and this one is as cute as a button. It has topiary bushes at the entrance and its wide front verandah is where we sit on a summer night.
We bring our family and our four-legged friends for an escape from the busyness of city life.
Pushing back the large bifold doors it allows us to extend the outdoors in with an inbuilt BBQ opposite the dining, it seems to make this cottage twice the size.
The kids run and play on the lawn with the dog (although he has his own kennel to escape them) and they spend the day digging in the sandpit or bouncing on the inbuilt trampoline.
We walk 15 minutes to Captains of Rye and love its laid back feel and quirky decor and eat outside if we can. Or for something special we always choose Steam Restaurant, you can’t get fresher seafood. Pick out your oysters from the oyster tank.
In the summer the Rye Carnival is in town and no matter the age we all have fond memories of Fairy Floss and Carnival games you never seem to win. The water babes love a snorkel at Octopus’ Garden under the Rye pier to marvel at the sealife from Weedy Sea Dragons to majestic Stingrays.

What fun! a new house to visit that lets four-legged friends like me sleep inside.
The beach nearby is fine for me to walk on a lead but my hoomans take me to the many leash free beaches and parks in the area.
Yay! a garden with tall fences to keep me safe. Love the lawn and my own house outside to sleep in.
And there’s a special basket just for me. No way! What’s in there? Ooh, ooh! a treat from PAWDINKUM. I LOVE THIS PLACE.

This was a really great property for a week by the sea for its beautiful laid back coastal style, indoor/outdoor living and large secure back yard for the dog. Walk to beach was quicker than it appeared and there is a great coffee place near the main street to walk by with your dog on the way to the dog beach.

Happy Valley is a very nice property, with everything you need for a break that is close to everything. This was our second stay, the kids (and our groodle) love the backyard. From sharing meals on the deck, to beating the crowds to the beach, this small property ticks all the boxes. Very welcoming for dogs, and the resident backyard lizard made another appearance this stay which the kids also got a kick out of! Hope to be back again…

A well equipped property which was very comfortable and clean. Reasonably near to the main street shops in Rye but far enough away to be very quiet. Only a short drive to the back beach.

Great little holiday house on a quiet street and feels very quiet and private and only a 10min walk to the beach and shops. Comfortable beds and a nice kitchen to cook in. Loved the outdoor deck and backyard for the kids and dog to ran around in. great little holiday home.

From the moment we walked in we felt super comfortable and my dogs felt at home. They relaxed and enjoyed the backyard. The layout is very functional and the presentation and the bedding were very nice. The house included all the necessary accessories. Loved every minute!
