It’s our dream to escape to the country. Even if it is only for a weekend!
JOIE DE VIVRE is our dream escape to your own little piece of paradise with picturesque 10-acre views in Red Hill, in the heart of the peninsula’s wine region.
When we drive down the quiet country lane with the tree-lined driveway we know we have the most relaxing weekend waiting for us. As interiors addicts, we feel like we have walked into a magazine cover. What to look at first? The marvellous french inspired cast iron fireplace or the facing chesterfield sofas or the view in the background.
We really never want to leave, we walk the dog in the grounds and sit on the jetty in the dam and ponder the meaning of life while watching the fishes swim by. The kids are completely engrossed in the playground, tennis court or basketball…so many things to do.
The property is located right next door to Main Ridge Estate and across from Red Hill Cheese, two wonderful gourmet destinations that we don’t even need to get in the car and drive to. The vines for Main Ridge Estate are in fact at the back door of this property.

What fun! a new house to visit that lets four-legged friends like me sleep inside.
Yay! a huge garden…but no fences. I will have to be on my best behaviour and not wander off. Love the trees and bushes, there are lots of interesting smells. Are those possums in the trees?
And there’s a special basket just for me. No way! What’s in there? Ooh, ooh! a treat from PAWDINKUM. I LOVE THIS PLACE.

Beautifully appointed, spacious and well equiped, the house was perfect for our getaway with large bedrooms and bathrooms and the most divine gardens and view. Perfect for all families and fur babies, I couldn’t recommend it enough! Ocean Blue Retreats were very attentive and responsive to all queries and questions.

What a wonderful time at Joie de Vivre in beautiful Red Hill. The property was quite, spacious and abundant with wildlife. The star gazing was awesome. The location was also fantastic. Within minutes we could be at the beach, first class dining at wineries (highly recommend Polperro, sundowner drinks and cheese next door at Main Ridge Estate and Green Olive winery just down the road). If you want to explore the Peninsula there is no better location. The house was presented beautifully and found ourselves just chilling reading books and snoozing to birdsong. We'll be back for sure!

A wonderful family friendly property surrounded by nature - felt like we were worlds away from the city! The home was beautifully styled and cosy, and perfect for our young family. The playground and tennis court kept us entertained all weekend. Will definitely stay again!

Our recent stay was an absolute dream come true. Nestled amidst breathtaking bushland, the property offered a spacious haven that catered to every need. The highlight was the enormous kitchen, perfect for culinary enthusiasts, while the kids' play area and full-size playground provided endless joy for our little ones. We absolutely loved the tennis courts for some friendly competition. The natural beauty surrounding the property added an extra layer of tranquility to our stay. Joie De Vivre just lends itself so beautifully to relaxation, reconnection and re-charge. Ours was a family gathering, celebrating my mother-in-law's 89th birthday, two teenagers and golden retriever, and it could not have been more perfect for us all. The vistas and space, all shades of green from every viewpoint just ensure you take the metaphorical exhale, physically & mentally from the moment you arrive. It is a bit of luxe in soft furnishings and French Provincial style, inviting couches to mould into and we all loved the kitchen that had everything you could possibly need. We had a delicious lunch next door at Main Ridge Estate, but other than that, you simply do not want to leave. It ticked all the boxes for this special celebration!
