Imagine a typical beach shack, not too pretentious, then perch it up high so that it is surrounded by 360-degree views. That just about sums up Big Blue Horizon.
Inside, the property is cosy but filled with natural light, with hints of the 70's, but the views are to die for! This is the perfect base from which to enjoy your typical Aussie beach holiday.
Located on the back beach area of Rye it is only 600 metres to the beautiful Sixteenth Beach located within the National Park (it's not a swimming beach but it has spectacular views and walking tracks).
Being up high does mean a few stairs to climb and a steep driveway so it's not for the faint-hearted.
But its the perfect escape for families and groups of friends with beds for 11 guests.
The property is split into two levels, each level is accessed separately. The upper level with is secure decks front and back encompass the main living area, dining and kitchen with a bathroom and two bedrooms.
There is then an additional bedroom and bathroom and laundry on the lower level but this is accessed separately via the rear deck stairs. This allows for the extra sleeping area and is ideal for older kids. Please note that the lounge and dining areas seat only 6-8 guests.
On the upper-level walk into this light-filled property with full-length picture windows on all sides bringing the outside in. The central living space is open plan with a gas fireplace taking centre stage, perfect for cosy winter stays.
The L shaped leather lounge is perfect for putting your feet up and enjoying the quiet surroundings and there is a second sunny seating area looking out to the spectacular views.
A modern central dining table in light oak has seating for all your guests and opposite the funky red-tiled kitchen is a nod to the heritage of this house.
The kitchen includes new stainless steel appliances and a Nespresso Coffee Machine. There is also a large separate pantry area in funky blue tiles to match the design of the kitchen.
This living space opens out to a large undercover deck with dining for your group and a Webber BBQ. The deck with its large square dining area will be your favourite spot to wine and dine with the spectacular backdrop of the undulating Peninsula and the views of the bay and ocean beaches.
There are three generous bedrooms:
Master Bedroom - King Bed with built-in robes.
Second Bedroom - Double Bunk (Single over double) and Single Bed
Third Bedroom (Ground Floor - separate external access) - Queen Bed, Bunk Bed and Single Bed
Upper Level: What a showstopper! We love a bathroom with a corner bath...and what a view! Includes separate shower.
Lower Leve: Large older style bathroom with separate shower.
Laundry: this can be accessed via the lower level underneath the house.
There is space for 2-3 cars to park (it is a steep driveway).
The property welcomes pets with a garden surrounding the house the property is fully fenced and secure as are the decks. Pets are welcome inside. Please bring your own bedding and bowls. Do not allow pets on furniture or beds.

Activities in the area
The property is moments away from Rye village and the Rye foreshore.
Drive to the village for great cafes, groceries and gifts. If sailing is your thing then Rye and Blairgowrie Yacht Club are close by.
The property is only a few minutes drive to the Peninsula Hot Springs.
Explore Sorrento Village just 10 minutes away with its art and craft galleries, clothes, homewares and gift shops and lots of yummy cafes.
Just 15 minutes inland is the Red Hill hinterland with your choice of up to 60 wineries plus gourmet producers. Take the kids to the Enchanted Adventure Gardena and the Arthurs Seat Eagle chairlift for some thrills during their stay.
