There is a split system air conditioner in the living area and pedestal fans in bedrooms.

The controls for the heating can be found in the hallway near the front door.
Press the ‘on’ button to activate. Turn the knob to your preferred temperature. Please do not use zoning as it will need to be reset. In the event that the heater needs to be reset or shows an error message, please try as follows:
Step 1. Press ‘on’ button
Step 2. Open the cover flap and press ‘Fn’ button then 1. The text ‘reset’ will then be visible next to button 4 and then press button 4. The screen will go blank for a minute or two then the reset screen will appear.
Step 3. Press the ‘on’ button again and adjust temperature accordingly.
Baby Equipment

‘Portsea Hideaway’ is equipped with a highchair and portacot plus linen. This can be found in the laundry.
Bank/ATMs

There is a selection of ATM’s in Sorrento and surrounding areas as well as supermarkets. However, you will find other banks and ATMs at the larger townships.
BBQ Facilities

A gas BBQ is provided for your convenience on the decking. In order to operate the BBQ, of the BBQ. To light, simply press and turn the burner control knobs. The relevant burner will light automatically. Cleaning equipment is located with the BBQ. You will find BBQ tools in the utensil drawers in the kitchen. The BBQ must be left clean upon departure if you don to want to incur an additional cleaning fee.
PLEASE TURN OFF GAS BOTTLE WHEN FINISHED BBQing.
Bathroom Amenities

Your bathrooms are equipped with a hair dryer.
Soap along with toilet paper have been supplied for your convenience. Please be aware that these items will not be replenished during your stay.
Clothes Dryer

Turn the knob to your desired temperature (30, 60, 90 degrees) and the drying cycle will commence.

Entertainment System – Living Areas

‘The Portsea Hideaway’ is equipped with a variety of entertainment options
- 55” Smart TV
- Netflix
- 2nd TV in Tri bunk room
- Playstation
Netflix – please remember if you have logged into your Netflix/Stan etc accounts please log out before you leave.
A chromecast is connected to the Family Room TV. To use, please click on source at the top right corner of the TV remote and scroll down to HDMI3 Chromecast. Then share your favourite app from your mobile, tablet or laptop.
Should you lose access to free to air channels, please check the antenna is connected located in 4th bedroom (connector is located on the wall at rear of room, next to the bunk bed).
Fire Safety Procedure

If a fire starts in the property, follow these procedures:
- Stop, drop, cover and roll – if your clothes catch on fire – stop, drop, cover your face with your hands and roll to smother the flames.
- Get down low and go, go, go – the safest place for breathing is near the floor
- Check doors for heat before opening – use the back of your hand to check for heat
- Get everyone out of the house as soon as possible
- Call the fire brigade as soon as possible – 000
- Never go back inside for any reason
Housekeeping

As ‘The Portsea Hideaway” is self-contained, there is no daily servicing or cleaning as part of your nightly booking fee.
Cleaning equipment and products can be found in the kitchen provisions basket under the kitchen sink.
The owner, for your convenience has provided a start up pack of tea, coffee and sugar along with dishwashing detergent and laundry powder. Please remember – this is not a serviced apartment and these supplies will not be replaced or replenished during your stay.

Maintenance

Urgent maintenance is considered something that affects the quality of your stay or those guests who arrive after you. Examples – lack of heating/cooling, appliance not working. In these cases please call our maintenance department on 0498027827
However, please note if you make a call regarding maintenance we will send out a contractor to attend to the problem. Please therefore ensure that the issue is genuine as the owner will be charged for the call out. Please ensure you have referred to the house notes and appliance manual before lodging a call out.
We will do our very best to attend to issues but during public holidays and weekends it may take time to rectify.
Septic Tank

Please note that there is a septic tank on the property please do not flush anything down the toilet such as tampons etc.
Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited in this property at all times. It is kindly requested that when smoking in the courtyard you ensure the doors remain closed. If the property and its furnishing and fittings are affected by cigarette smoke, you the tenant will be responsible for steam cleaning or cost of the replacement of the furniture/fittings.
Swimming Pool

The pool is heated between November and April. Pool towels will be supplied within these times. The filter works twice daily; from 9am until midday and 1pm until 4pm. There is a pool net and pole just above the hose reel should you wish to scoop out any excess leaves.
Pool Maintenance: Pools are maintained on a weekly basis by a pool contractor. We are unable to let you know when the contractor will visit the property as they have their own schedule but procedure is for them to knock to let you know they have arrived.
- Never allow the water level to drop below the filter box. Please maintain the level to approximately 10cm below the top of the pool
- Never put any bubble bath, detergent, oils or dyes in the pool or spa.
- Food or drink is NOT permitted in the pool. Glass is strictly prohibited. Never allow pets into the pool and keep pets away from the pool area. CHILDREN MUST BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES WHEN IN THE SPA AND POOL
Washing Machine

Best to leave on delicate mode 30°C. Pull out tray and add in a scoop of washing powder then press ‘Start’ button until it flashes then press again to start cycle.
Waste Disposal

Rubbish bins are located on the right hand side of the house. There is a Green General Waste Bin, 2 Blue Recycling Bins and 1 Yellow Private Waste Bins* (*these are to be used for overflow only)
Wildlife

Portsea is a rural area with sandy soil. The area is prone to spiders and ants, especially in the summer months. Every attempt is made to minimize intrusions by these insects with regular pest control strategies. Do not leave any food out or surfaces not wiped. This will assist with any infestation.
