Ocean Blue Coastal Retreats has grown from a passion to provide stylish holiday accommodation to families along with a high level of customer service. Our goal was to become an award-winning hospitality provider on the Mornington Peninsula for families (including pets), which we achieved in 2011 after winning our first tourism award in the standard accommodation category with our then business Blue Moon Cottages.
Our core values are to provide our guests with uniquely designed pet-friendly Mornington Peninsula accommodation that feels like their own beach retreat. We listen to our guests and value their feedback as it allows us to improve our facilities and our service. We want to show off the Mornington Peninsula in all its glory as we would with a visiting family member - its attractions, its scenery, its parks and wildlife, its fabulous food and wine, its highly acclaimed golfing venues, its gardens and art galleries and the phenomenon that is the Mornington Peninsula Hot Springs a wonderful attraction of hot mineral pools surrounded by bush made into a beautiful spa retreat.
Starting the business as a family with two young boys and Paddington the dog, we knew that going away with families and pets is fun and we want you to enjoy the experience and relax, knowing that you have a lovely property to holiday in with all your family. Our young boys are now young men, Paddington has a few more grey hairs (as do we all) and has been joined by Eva, our Airedale Terrier. Our son, Will, now works in the business as Operations Manager, so it is still very much a family affair.
That is why we ensure there is something for everyone - romantic accommodation, group accommodation and family friendly and pet-friendly accommodation ... so whether you are a couple, group or family your pet can come along too.
Sian and Peter West are Principals of Ocean Blue Coastal Retreats and discovered the Mornington Peninsula in 2004 when purchasing a holiday home as an investment. In 2006, Blue Moon Cottages was purchased and a group of four cottages formed the core of the business. Since then more accommodation was added and with a select portfolio of 47 properties on the Mornington Peninsula and The Gippsland Lakes. Their Mornington Peninsula knowledge comes from living on the peninsula since 2008, and working closely with Tourism Victoria and Mornington Peninsula Tourism has built an award-winning tourism business. They have since expanded their portfolio to include The Gippsland Lakes after falling in love with the area after buying their own holiday home in the area. Sian and Peter are both “hands on” in the business ensuring both guests and owners are provided with attention to detail at every level.
Guest Services -our dedicated guest operations team is headed up by Operations Manager, Will who works alongside Housekeeping Manager, Kirsty and her team of 7 housekeepers who are responsible for the preparation of your accommodation down to the last detail.
Admin and Sales - if you call up to book it may speak to Jo, Georgina, Robyn or Sian who have extensive knowledge of all the properties and the Mornington Peninsula facilities and attraction.
Paddington & Eva - you will see our dogs Paddington & Eva around our pet friendly accommodation Mornington Peninsula at various times. It is their job to keep Peter company when he is travelling around maintaining the properties. They like to help out too and check the details.
